全國15家Caltex油站業者上個月忽然接獲總公司通告，表示他們的供油合約將在6月底截止，意味著開齋節過後，他們必須在7月1日起結束營業。
這15家油站業者今天聯合召開記者會申訴他們的悲涼遭遇，其中有些已經經營了數十年，忽然被指示結束營業，想到傷心處，不覺掉淚了。
由於這15家Caltex油站主要都是聘請馬來員工，因此一旦宣布倒閉，將有越200名土著員工失業斷糧。
無論如何，這些業者也都知道，油站倒閉的主要原因是每周漂浮不定的油價，令他們經常蒙受虧損。
比如油價每周三宣布新售價，油站業者在周三之前購入的汽油，到了周三午夜過後新油價必須調低，他們就不得不面對虧損。考慮到銷售汽油的利潤非常低，價格只要變動3分錢以上，他們每售出1公升汽油，幾乎分文不賺，若調低超過3分錢，他們就無法逃過虧損的厄運。
不過，雖然這些油站業者都在慘淡經營中，但當他們接到Caltex大馬公司通知終止供油合約時，仍然禁不住悲傷絕望。
他們表示，Caltex在終止供油通知信中並沒說明原因，他們嘗試聯絡油公司也不獲響應。
這15家即將結束營業的Caltex遍布全國，包括雪州雙溪毛糯及吉隆坡沙叻秀的Caltex油站。他們在當地經營油站生意已經超過30年，有著甚至已經傳承了三代。
Caltex Petrol stationoperators told to shut down after Raya
SHAH ALAM: It will be a bleak Raya for 15 Caltex petrol stationoperators after they were told to cease operations by June 30.
The 15 operators claim they are in the dark over why they haveto shut down – a move that will see around 200 people out of ajob.
Fauziah Ahmad Fadzil, who has been operating a station in SungaiBuloh for the past 17 years, said no reason was given in thetermination letters that she and the other operators received fromCaltex Malaysia on May 15.
「We tried to discuss the matter with Caltex to iron out theissue, but they refused to meet us,」 she said at a press conferencehere today.
Also present were Petrol Dealers Association secretary-generalRofaie Mohd Hamdan and Persatuan Pengguna Islam Malaysia (PPIM)chief activist Nadzim Johan.
Fauziah claimed Caltex Malaysia had disregarded the government』sdirective when it came to implementing the self-service policy atits stations.
She said by right, Caltex should bear the installation andmaintenance cost for automation tools such as the outdoor paymentterminal.
「Instead, Caltex has forced us to fork out money for it.」
Another operator, Yong Sing Fatt, 56, teared up as he spokeabout the future of his station in Taman Salak Selatan, theownership of which he had inherited from his father.
「Caltex』s decision is really hard on us all, and is putting usunder a lot of pressure.
「We can』t accept the termination letter as we have been runningthe business for so long.」
Rofaie voiced concern that other petrol companies might issuesimilar directives to their operators.
「I hope the Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and ConsumerismMinistry will take action.」
When contacted, Caltex Malaysia said they will issue a statementon the matter soon.
