Introduce a city which located at Southernmost of New Zealand ---- Invercargill

Invercargill is the southernmost and westernmost city in New Zealand, and one of the southernmost cities in the world. It is the commercial centre of the Southland region. The city lies in the heart of the wide expanse of the Southland Plains on the Oreti or New River some 18 km north of Bluff, which is the southernmost town in the South Island.

 

Here are a few places to share in Invercargill :

 

1. Queens Park 

The pride of Invercargill is Queens Park, a beautiful park in the centre of the city sprawling across 80 hectares of beautifully kept gardens.

 

Highlights include a beautiful and varied rose garden, a rhododendron dell, an azalea garden, Japanese garden, dramatic tree lined walkways, bush paths through a selection of native plants and rock and herb gardens.

 

 

2. Southern Scenic Route

The Southern Scenic Route is a tourist highway in New Zealand linking Queenstown, Fiordland, Te Anau and the iconic Milford Road to Dunedin via, Riverton, Invercargill and The Catlins. 

The Southern Scenic Route concept and name were conceived at an informal gathering in Tuatapere in November 1985 and confirmed at a public meeting in January 1986.

 

3.  Bill Richardson Transport World

Transport World is an Invercargill, New Zealand organisation that invests in tourism in Southland.

 

So far they have four products: Bill Richardson Transport World, Classic Motorcycle Mecca, The Lodges At Transport World and Dig This Invercargill and have a restaurant and cafe on both Bill Richardson Transport World and Classic Motorcycle Mecca sites.
